Liquid SealantsThe key distinction between adhesives and Liquid Sealants is that sealants have relatively greater elongation and a bit lower strengths than adhesives. As the main purpose of liquid sealants is to seal the joints, they must have adequate adhesion to the substrates & good amount of resistance to various environmental conditions, in order to stay bonded throughout the necessary assembly life. They usually contain inert filler content and are formulated with an elastomer to provide flexibility & elongation as per the requirement. Liquid Sealants usually have a paste-like consistency which allows to easily fill the gaps in between the substrates.
